Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing day-to-day operations support to team members throughout the planning, implementation and delivery of programs, and may serve as first point of contact for the unit.

Duties may include:

  • Serving as primary contact with program participants, customer service and office support functions
  • Facilitating communicating between program participants and managerial staff
  • Coordinating arrangements for the program such as meetings, conferences and banquets
  • Collecting, compiling and summarizing program data and managing records
  • Maintaining program calendars and schedules
  • May utilize University programs to create, review and approval financial documents, and to provide routine financial reports to the program administrator
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

Required Experience
  • Three years performing administrative, office and/or program support functions
  • Composing, proofing and editing a variety of documents, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet research
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university and/or county vehicles
  • Requires travel between locations during the business day for meetings and in support of program activities
  • Requires working non-standard business hours to meet program needs
Additional Preferred
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write concise reports, and effectively speak to audiences of youth and adults
  • Speak, write, and read Spanish
  • Experience working with youth
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience working within teams
  • Experience with decision-making
  • Experience interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as rules, policies, research materials, or services
  • Independently solving problems and performing liaison activities in a work setting and coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move 50 lbs

  • Will occasionally work outdoors and potentially will be working with and around animals
